This is true, maybe they should reflect take it outside and turn it on 15 minutes, let it cool, then repeat the process 3 times.
Heat is very good, consistent and much hotter then my existing old 16 inch flash unit.

I had need for a cost-efficient way to heat set small runs of water-based ink printed T-shirts. T-shirts are my side-job/hobby. I have just a few designs that I sell at local stores. I printed roughly 500 shirts last year. I print 24 shirts at a time and I'm never in a hurry so I let the ink air dry over night.
The next day, I ran several test with the RANAR D-162, adjusting both the distance of the flash to the surface of the shirt and the amount of time the shirt was exposed. I then both vigorously hand washed each shirt and then machined washed the same shirts. The ink did not fade or wash out. The only color, I saw, in the water was from the color of the T-shirt fabric not my ink. The setting that worked well for me was: flash unit 4 inches from surface of T-shirt at about 30 seconds.
I am very pleased with couple of times that I've used the RANAR D-162.
